General objective: primary responsibility is to develop and execute effective communication strategies (with the PDT in US) that will help the organization to achieve its goals and objectives.
Here are some of the key responsibilities that come with the role:
Develop communication plans: Work closely with the leadership team to develop and implement communication plans that align with the ministry's mission, vision, and values. This includes identifying target audiences, creating messaging, and selecting appropriate communication channels.
Produce content: Develop content that supports the ministry's goals, such as articles, blog posts, newsletters, stories, social media posts, and videos. Ensure that all content aligns with the ministry's values and is consistent with its objectives and values.
Assist in fundraising efforts by developing material and campaigns that promote the ministry's mission and encourage donations.
Manage social media accounts: Develop and manage social media accounts (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube) to engage with stakeholders and build the ministry's online presence. This includes creating content, scheduling posts, monitoring comments, and analyzing metrics.
Develop and maintain relations with the field teams: Build relationships with the field teams to ensure timely and regular flow of information and input which is needed for donor relation and reporting.
Manage website: Ensure the website is up-to-date, easy to navigate, and provides accurate and engaging content. Collaborate with web developers to ensure website functionality and optimization.
Measure and report results: Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of communication strategies and provide regular reports to leadership. Use data to make informed decisions and adjust strategies as needed specially with the use of websites, and the ministry's app.
The Communication Officer will be responsible for communicating the ministry's values and mission to various audiences, including donors, supporters, and the general public. CO will play a crucial role in building the ministry's brand and reputation while ensuring that all communication is in line with the principles and values of the organization.
